Detroit is nothing to fear

Amidst the chaotic excitement surrounding the annual Movement festival, Spectral Sound brings its typical quality control in the form of an after-party entitled DETROIT IS NOTHING TO FEAR. Featuring five talented names from the area, this event will he held at the elegant, historic Masonic Temple on Saturday, May 26.

Headliner Audion (also known as avant-pop posterboy Matthew Dear) will perform a rare live PA set featuring reworked versions of his international club hits like "Mouth to Mouth" and "Kisses", intertwined with brand new, unreleased material. Spectral Sound resident DJ Ryan Elliott will bring his turntable mastery to the crowd; those who have heard him before know that his slickness is rivaled only by his own head of hair. Not to be pigeonholed exclusively in the "minimal techno" scene, Spectral will showcase a tag team set from TNT (AKA Osborne and James T. Cotton), bringing jakbeat and acid madness to the dancefloor. Finally, Spectral welcomes special guest Claude VonStroke, a Detroiter (who knew?) now based in San Francisco where he runs Dirtybird Records and is tearing up the globe with hit after hit.

Also, be sure not to miss Audion and Ryan Elliot's tag team DJ set at the Movement festival itself, 4:00 PM Sunday at the Detroit Stage.
